1 in 10. That’s the chance that you will have a seizure over the course of your life time. 1 in 26. That’s the chance that you or someone you know will develop some sort of epilepsy over the course of their life. Every three minutes someone new is diagnosed. Everyone has a brain. Leaving everyone at risk. The cause of epilepsy is still unknown but you can learn the simple first aid procedures with three S’s

First: Stay with the person until the seizure ends and remains calm

        Second: Keep the person Safe and time the length of the seizure

        Finally: Turn the person on their Side to help them breathe and prevent choking.

 The Iowa epilepsy foundations goal is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges and accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cure and save lives. Epilepsy is nobody’s choice but learning how to safely deal with a seizure is yours

In fact there are over 40 different types of seizures.
