This is a story about Adrian Nguyen, a senior college student at University of Northern Iowa. While a lot of students at his age are struggling to get an internship or even a part time job, Adrian is already making an average CEO’s salary, right from his tiny apartment near school. Even though this may sound unrealistic to some people since the average wage in the U.S is around $50,000, with college degrees and more than 3-year experience of course. So how could he achieve it?
No, he was not born in a rich family and no, he did not win the lotto. In fact, Adrian came from an average American household with the total income less than $50,000. He was an average college student who did not know what to do with his life. Even though he had a dream of being wealthy and traveling the world, but he told himself that he would never be able to do that, especially while carrying $30,000 student loan.
Adrian had a very different habit which was surfing Forbes website and looking at the richest people’s background and their come-up stories. He said that it was quite motivational to do so. He never thought that his habit would turn his life completely. Adrian noticed that most of the richest people are involved in trading, especially foreign currencies exchange, as known as Forex. Fortunately, and coincidentally, his best friend’s husband who went to the same university was a successful Forex (Foreign exchange) market trader. He then got mentored and started to learn about Forex trading and how to correctly analyze the market. There were some struggles at the beginning as the were a lot of materials for him to learn. Not only that, he had to work part time in order to pay for his living. Therefore, he sacrificed his sleeping schedule so that he could stay up to learn Forex and do school works at the same time. He said in the interview
“I only had 2 hours of sleep every day for almost 4 months. Even though it might sound unhealthy to some people, but I was highly motivated to escape the rat race so I did not feel too tired at the time.”
After 5 months of hard works and dedications, he decided to open a “live” account, which required to use real money, and was ready to tackle with one of the most savage financial markets.
Unfortunately, he lost half of his hard-earn money that he made while he was still working at a fast-food restaurant. “How could this happen to me?” Adrian started doubting himself. He learned every materials and had an almost-perfect record on his demo trading account, so it was quite shocking for him to lose to the market. He finally found the answer after studying all the trades which he lost. It was not that he did not have enough knowledges or the right skills, but because he did not control his emotional while trading. It was a whole different game with different rules when he used real money versus the demo account. He let his emotions to make the decisions for him even though it completely went against his analysis on the market. After a lot of practices of being emotionless while trading, Adrian finally started to see positive results and the rest was history.
Adrian is now a successful Forex trader while still being a full-time college student. Because of Forex, not only that he has a better lifestyle, but he is able to travel the world if he wants to.
When got asked to give an advice for all the college students who are struggling with life, Adrian said
“If you don’t know what to do with your life right now, just give trading Forex or trading in general a try, you will not regret it. Because trading is for everyone and it can give people endless opportunities to be successful, as long as they have enough determination and stay disciplined.”
